Registration

How to Register
If you would like to contribute and/or edit content for this wiki, you must register as a user (i.e., set up an account):

  • Click on the "Register" button in the navigation bar at the top of this page.
  • You'll be taken to another page, where you will need to provide information about yourself (such as first and last names, e-mail address, password, etc.).
NOTE: When you register, you will notice the following:
    • After typing in your full name, it will be reset as your first and last name together, with no space in between. Please do not change this (i.e., re-insert a space), or your registration will not be accepted.
    • You will see the equation "1+1=" and a space in which to provide the sum. Please answer this equation, or registration will not be accepted.
  • Next, after filling in information about yourself, click on the "Register this account" button.
  • Once your registration is accepted, you should be taken to the home page of this wiki. (If you see the "Information about You" page again, just click on the "Home" button in the navigation bar at the top left.)
  • Proof of registration will be evident if:
    • You see your name in the "Members" list on the right side of the wiki home page.
    • You see the greeting "Hello" and then your name in the top right of the page.
How to Edit/Add Content and Deal with XWiki Syntax
XWiki syntax may take some getting used to, but at least the XWiki creators have provided a syntax guide, which you will find on the right side of the box in which you input new content or edit content.
  • To edit/add content to the home page, click on the "Edit this page" icon underneath a row of navigation buttons.
  • To edit/add content to other pages, click on the links for those pages in the "Table of Contents" (left sidebar section); you'll be taken to those pages and will see an identical row of navigation buttons at the top (and underneath them, the "Edit this page" icon, which, when clicked, will enable the addition/editing of content on those pages).
  • For more a somewhat more complete key to XWiki syntax, go to the "More Actions" tab on the top navigation bar, and under "Help" click the "XWiki Syntax" link. A window with examples will appear.
  • XWiki also accepts HTML tagging.
